Early Signs Of Pregnancy Print E-mail
Waiting for that special moment, a positive pregnancy test. For many hoping to conceive this can be a long wait, so we would like to know are there any early signs of pregnancy?

While some women know that they're pregnant soon after the lucky soldier reaches the target, others may not experience any pregnancy related symptoms at all. An extreme example is the woman that goes to hospital with severe stomach cramps, she thinks of food poisening, one hour later she delivers a healthy baby. These cases are very rare but there are quite a few women who do not feel pregnant for some time into their pregnancy

So what are the most frequently reported early signs of pregnancy?

Missed period: one of the most obvious signs a missed period or amenorrhoea, there are women though who continue to have light periods while being pregnant, this is called spotting.

Sore and swollen breasts: and a bloated pms like feeling are also signs that you might be pregnant, this feeling is about the same soreness that women experience prior to a period.

Morning sickness: one of the joys of pregnancy, it might start soon after conception, and the word morning sickness is a bit misleading as it can occur at any time of the day!

Extreme fatique: This tiredness is caused by high levels of the pregnancy hormone progesterone, which acts like a sedative.

Darker breast areolas: the skin around your nipples may turn darker in colour during pregnancy, you might also notice enlarged veins on your breasts.

Food cravings: You could experience an intense urge to indulge on certain foods.

Frequent urination: do you need to be near a toilet all the time, do you need to pee every half hour, and mostly only small amounts, congratulations you could be pregnant!

Heightened sense of smell: do common smells make you nauseous, does food you liked before taste and smells different to the point that they make you feel sick? Yes this is also a sign of pregnancy! You might even start to dislike the smell of your favorite perfume.

Strange taste in your mound: pregnant women may experience a metallic like taste in their mouth.
