Pregnancy Pregnancy Signs Of Ovulation
The signs of ovulation is a matter of knowing what to look for. Listed below are a number of the most common signs of ovulation, may they help you conceive!

Cervical mucus changes

Prior to ovulation the mucus of your cervix changes from a sticky, creamy like consistency to a watery or raw egg white like consistency. The mucus can be stretched between your fingers. The closer you get to ovulation the more abundant the mucus becomes.

Increased sexual desire

This is how nature is telling you that it is time to make love and to conceive, as ovulation approaches the sexdrive increases. It starts a few days prior to ovulation and ends 2 days after ovulation, this is the most fertile period in a woman's cycle so if you want to try for a baby this is the time to go for it!

Body basal temperature changes

The increase of the hormone progesterone causes a rise in your body basal temperature when you ovulate, the rise in temperature is only a few tenth of a degree and temperature stays elevated after ovulation. By measuring your body basal temperatures during the month you can pinpoint the moment of ovulation. This tracking method is very popular and easy to use.

Breast tenderness

Not all women experience breast tenderness before ovulation, but many do. It's the result of an elevated level of hormones in your body. It's not very reliable as it resembles common pms symptoms and some fertility drugs also cause breast tenderness as a side effect, this makes it harder to find out whether you're ovulating or experiencing the side effects of the fertility drugs.

Changes in cervical position

The position of your cervix changes as ovulation approaches, it will be higher, more open and feels softer and wetter.

Ovulation predictor test

A very reliable way to find out when you ovulate is the ovulation predictor test, it costs about $20 and uses urine strips to measure a hormone called the Luteinizing hormone, this hormone controls the ovulating process. You start testing a week before you ovulate, and when the testline on the strip turns darker than the control line, there is a surge in the Luteinizing hormone, meaning that you ovulate.
