Breastfeeding tips
• Eat healthy, all you eat is part of what your baby eats, so eat a well balanced diet it's the same as when you were pregnant. Eat good proteins like chicken and fish and lean meat for iron, lots of green veggies, fruit and nuts and plenty of dairy products. Your baby will love you for it.
• Have frequent smaller meals, to maintain a steady supply of milk
• When you feed your baby try to let him/her drink from both breasts, wait until one breast is empty before changing to the other breast.
• Use breast pads to absorb any leaking milk
• Use cracked nipple cream if your nipples are dry, cracked or sore.
• If your baby is tired or doesn't feel like drinking, use the breastpump to express the milk, store it in a sealed container and keep it in the fridge for up to 48 hours.
