An often asked pregnancy related question is "can we still have sex or is it safe to have sex during pregnancy?" Many of you will be very pleased to hear that unless there are medical reasons for you not to have sex, it is perfectly safe and even good for you to have sex during pregnancy.

Sex may never have been better than now, because of the higher level of hormones your body is becoming more sensitive and creating a feeling of high sensuality. The higher level of oestrogen leads to an increased blood flow to the area responsible for sexual arousal. Also your breasts become larger and more sensitive. In a way the hormones are super-charging your sensitivity, giving you a very intense and lasting arousal.

Many couples say that the sex they had during pregnancy was the best and most satisfying sex they ever experienced. Women with difficulties having orgasms, now easily getting multiple and more intense orgasms for the first time. For most partners the new shape and luscious curves of your body is an extra incentive for great love making. Simply enjoy it!

The desire for sex may change during the stages of your pregnancy, maybe you dont feel like sex very much during the first trimester, as you may suffer from morning sickness and tiredness. Towards the end of the first semester, as hormone levels settle, your energy, vitality and your sexdrive will return. Towards the end of your pregnancy your libido may decline again, as the seize of your baby belly makes it physically more difficult to have sex, although many couples become very inventive overcoming that problem.

Making love is a perfect way to relax and ease tensions in your pregnant body. You may have to change positions as pregnancy progresses, and the missionary position can become too uncomfortable. Be inventive, side by side, cowgirl, doggy style, sensual massage and oral sex all are very rewarding less invasive alternatives.
